Stepping into the Country Tavern is like walking into a1970's dancehall without the cigarette smoke. Our server was very attentive and courteous. The ribs were tasty and tender. My husband liked the potato casserole but not the beans because they were too sweet. The mac & cheese was my favorite side. The potato salad was good but nothing special. I have had better brisket. Unfortunately, my brisket was fatty. The slices that wasn't fatty were too tough. The sausage was great. The delicious blackberry cobbler made up for the brisket. We will return for the ribs and sausage.
Fabulous food! Smoked meats are the best in the area. Friendly waitstaff. Go when you are not in a hurry. For those who may be expecting a smoke-filled bar, we were pleased to find no smoke odor at all.
Great food. Baked potato casserole was amazing and the turkey was heavenly! My daughter had some brisket and she now wants that for dinner every day! The spicy Mac and cheese is a good twist on a classic favorite. Love that they bring out warm hand towels after for you to clean up with! Our waitress was great! The inside is very loud and very dimly lit, so people with poor eyesight (like me) be careful! They don't have an actual menu, the server just tells you what they - KISS method, they don't have a wide variety but what they do have they make damn well! Worth the wait and the cobbler is to die for!
Was really surprised at the good BBQ. Don't know what I was expecting but it was awesome. The sausage and brisket were great and the ribs were even better. Sides weren't that great but who judges a BBQ place by the sides??? Let's be honest. Also loved the sauce...which I'm not a big fan of sauce in general. If the meat is right it really doesn't need it, but this enhanced the meat for sure. It was not thick and not too sweet but more tangy. All in all I would highly recommend.
