The food was decent. We had raw oysters and salmon. Salmon had good flavor. Just a little bit dry. They have about a dozen bottled beers and 6 on tap. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly.
If you like seafood at all: GO! Although they're most popular for their fried seafood, I like to go in for a "treat" and get the Oysters Bienville. Also, if you've never been, and you're taking the kids, the proper way to eat the saltines on the tables is to draw a smiley face (or boat... or squiggles...) on them with the cocktail sauce.
This restaurant was clean and had good ambiance. We had the delicious seafood gumbo for starters. It turned out to be the best part of our meal. We had mixed feelings on our Fisherman's Platter (Cod and shrimp) . Some of the shrimp were dark and dried out (pre-cooked) while others were freshly prepared. For the quality of what we received, it was a bit pricey. If this review was helpful, please "like" it.
Went with a group of 4. The ordering system is a little weird. You go up to the counter to order, the menu is on the wall. Order, they give you a number, and you sit. Had a dozen raw oysters and the fisherman's platter. Oysters were great. Loved the catfish.
This place is a local legend... for good reason. A little hard to find, but well worth the search. (Hint: it’s BETWEEN the two buildings in the parking lot, it doesn’t face the road.
