Saw this place on a local TV show and made a point to swing by the next time I was in the area.
First impressions: parking lot can be funky so be aware.
Prices: brisket plate, tea and pecan pie was $27 before tip.
Dining area: they have amazing pickled red onions. Real silverware available (big plus).
Will be back but will make sure someone in the group can expense the meal. Way too expensive for us working folk.
The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, with the warm glow of the barbecue pit and the inviting aroma of slow-cooked meats setting the stage for a gratifying dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall inviting atmosphere of the place. The brisket was perfectly prepared with a mouthwatering smoky flavor and tender, juicy texture. It practically melted in my mouth with each bite. As for the turkey, it was incredibly succulent and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning to enhance its natural taste.
One of the best meals I've ever had. I came for lunch and will definitely be coming back for dinner. The barbecue is delicious the baked potato salad is amazing. Price is normal for BBQ, but you get what you pay for and don't feel let down. Would definitely recommend!
Decided to try Schulze’s for my birthday lunch. Had the 2 meat plate with brisket and smoked turkey with green beans and coleslaw. Meat were tender and seasoned to perfection. Sides were delicious. Grabbed a cherry cobbler for dessert and it had a tad too much salt. The place was spacious yet cozy and welcoming atmosphere All in all a positive experience and would return.
My wife and I have been taking road trips since the pandemic started to try many of the Top 50 TX BBQ joints. The brisket had a great smoke & bark! Best sausage I’ve had since Zimmerhanzel’s in Smithville TX closed (still not as good But outstanding & made in-house). The pork ribs & burnt ends were excellent and you HAVE to try the side - Baked potato salad!
