Whether you are visiting Hico or just passing through, you definitely want to make your way over to Two Clay Birds! Fresh, seasonal produce grown by local farmers, honey, small batch preserves and pickled veggies, unique artifacts, and the best baked goods on the planet! The cinnamon rolls are the best I’ve ever put in my mouth! Their daily lunches are made in house, from scratch. Don’t tell them I told you, but the secret ingredient is love. ? You may walk in as a first time customer, but when you walk out of this family business, you will have made new friends & will return every chance you get!
Excellent goods, and such a pleasant atmosphere. Sweet spot to stop on a road trip for a bite to eat and car snacks, or to stop for a good conversation for a few hours. The absolute most darling family runs this business, I can't imagine not stopping here each time we go through the area.
The place, the food, & the owners are wonderful
When we all can again, more than worth the drive from wherever you are from DFW to Waco. Ordinarily lunch is served featuring farm fresh organic produce & made from scratch everything else. Including their mouthwatering sourdough breads, which you can still pick up from the porch. The owners are beyond awesome. My first visit well before all the beautiful renovations done, Kevin lifted my wheelchair over the threshold so I could come in the shop. And during this time where things are so uncertain they are giving, donating food to their community to help ensure people have food. Go. You'll be glad you did
My sister and I stopped in on our way back to Houston from Stephenville in search of local honey. We stumbled upon a gem with this quaint little store and restaurant. The owners and two of their son's that were working that day were so pleasant and welcoming and a wealth of knowledge. We went in for honey and came out with so much more! We bought bread and butter squash/pickles, 2 different kinds of cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip cookies, chicken pot pie hand pies and my absolute favorite, pecan sourdough bread. I cannot express enough how amazingly delicious this bread is, I ate 3/4 of the loaf by myself! I wish I had bought more! To top off our visit, after the restaurant closed the owners and one of their friends pulled out their guitars and started to play and sing! Free live entertainment! It was perfect! If you're passing through Hico, Tx, this place is a must see! You will not be disappointed!
No better place in the area to get farm fresh produce, handmade foods, and local goods!
