Black's Market Table - Farm to Table American Restaurant & Cater

When this restaurant opened, I had very high hopes for a place that varied its menu using local products. After going there 4+ times over the course of 8 months, I noticed very little change in the menu. On top of that, the dishes are only 3-4 stars to me. Admittedly I haven't tried all the dishes (the ribs cooked in duck fat look great, but a bit too sloppy for me to eat out), but still nothing really is drawing me back (we've been there about 8 times). I'll probably go back in the near future to see if anything has changed. If so, I'll update my review.

The food is always good, and it's nice to have a place this nice out where we live. I just wish the atmosphere was a little warmer. Maybe some carpet? Something to make the space less cavernous and sterile seeming. Maybe it's the cold metal chairs?

This place is okay. I probably wouldn't recommend it to a friend but that doesn't mean I would tell them to avoid this place either.

The environment is nice and it feels very Western. I like the atmosphere. The food looks very appetizing it's pretty good in taste.

Here are the bad things about this place: It's very expensive and the menu is tiny (look for yourself on their website). Don't even bother getting an appetizer because it'll probably cost as much (if not more) as your meal.

Other than that, the staff is really nice... but I probably won't come back for a while.

Friendly service in a comfortable environment. Metal and wooden chairs at tables. Sit in the wooden one if you easily catch a chill. We came around 8:30 in a Friday, so after the dinner rush. We were one of about 5 tables still dining.

Shrimp and avocado salad was wonderful. Hummus has a VERY strong taste of rosemary. I feel like with that much of an atypical hummus ingredient, it should probably be listed in the menu as "rosemary" hummus or something.. We would have opted to try something different if it had been better described. Service was attentive at first, but she lost track of us (possibly doing closing side-work) no refills and did not check back once food was dropped at table. If she had, I would have told her my prime rib was cold to the touch... not warm. Cold. Brussels sprout side however was hot and delicious! Husbands chicken and biscuits were quite good..

Overall we would definitely get that shrimp and avo salad along with chicken & biscuits again. I will stay away from the dinner special and get something the kitchen has more experience timing to come out hot with the other items ordered. We will be back to give then another shot.
