Very cute small place tucked away in a shopping center. Hard to see from the main road of Bellaire since it's now behind another shopping center, but hey getting lost sometimes is a great way to find the hidden gems of the city. I decided to swing in for a quick bite and see what they had to offer. I ordered the bbq pork banh mi sandwich, shrimp spring rolls, and a SmoothTea milk tea so I can get a good read on the place.

The milk tea is very standard and sweet. I enjoyed it, but the boba was a bit chewy and hard at times. It's not super soft if you are critical of that, but it's better than driving all the way to Chinatown for tapioca dessert drinks. The spring rolls are made by hand and are actually quite small, but packed heavily with greens and your choice of meat. Interesting they didn't pack any noodle in them. Probably a good idea since we all need more greens anyway. The sandwich I would give a 3 out of 5. Very average tasting and not heavy on the butter. A bit dry, but the bread was fresh and the meat was plentiful and saucy. Condiments were also all fresh ingredients. It's definitely enough to fill you up, but if you need more, they have the option to add an egg or avocado to your sandwich, which many places don't or won't do.

The thing that is really special about this cafe is the ambiance and the customer service. The place is very clean, simple, efficient, and gets good traffic despite being a bit hidden. They don't play any horrific loud music that makes you think you're in a dance club. The cashier that day was very sweet. She smiled a lot and told me about specials they have. Once your food is ready, they usually call out your number so you can pick it up. However, she was kind enough to bring me my food and again, gave me a huge smile through her braces. I would recommend stopping in and giving it a try. Hard to come by wholesome people and wholesome food like this even in friendly neighborhoods nowadays.

Sadly I didn't like my Taro Beverage, nor the consistency of the tapioca was too hard for me. I had to throw it away. It was my first time here too. I gave it three stars because of the cleanliness and friendliness of the cashier, and the nice decor. Maybe, I'll try something else next time.

Love their Banh Mi and teas! So thankful this place opened. I can feed my 2 teenagers and myself for $15. Our family is always on the go, so when I don't have time to make dinner this is one place my kids and I agree on .
