Over all- their food lack flavor and their spicy goes from not spicy to stupid spicy (nothing in between).
Pork intestine noodle soup (spicy) - lacks flavor depth. So spicy that it's all you taste.
Beef noodle soup - soup was clear broth (from the lack of flavor it was probably just hot water). Not the traditional dark broth and not what they have pictured on the wall.
Salty pork rice - only successful dish from what we ordered. Few of the places actually use mushroom and pork to augment the taste.
Pork feet - plain taste.
Pork ears - good but not the most memorable
Duck neck (spicy) - done more as duck neck jerky. All you taste is the spiciness and star anise. The rest of the profile is not remarkable. Guess it's good as a drinking snack.
Best Wuhan food period.
I have been to lots of places tryin all Wuhanese and Hubei restaurants including those in Cupertino and LA. No one beats this.
I talked to the staff, apparently they customized their noodle from the supplier, which is the key to the authenticity. Their Hot Dry Noodle is what you will get in Wuhan. And their side dishes such as the vegetables and ducks’ neck was on point. Definitely worth every penny.
Highly recommended for all 武汉人.
Spicy dry noodles. If you haven't tried them. Thank me later
Duck necks (鸭脖) is a must buy every time when I come to the China Town. Authentic flavor of Hubei Cuisine. Their Hot-Dry noddles (热干面) is great, haven’t had more authentic than this restaurant, snack-sized bowl, great for afternoon snack.
The service was excellent and very friendly. The let me sample some dishes before buying. There spicy level is pretty high and gives you numb sausage lips. Something in the stewed sauce/seasoning was a little off for my taste. All in all, it's good, authentic, and spicy Wuhan food. Recommend the duck neck.
