Burt's Meat Market & Cajun Foods

I love Burts Meat Mkt. They have good food on the steam table and fresh meat you can buy at fairly low prices.
Chasidy the mgr is always very friendly and will offer help when you need it.

First time there.....the line forms real quick and moves real slow, so patience is a virtue. Meal was decent will go again.

I was born in Houston but grew up and live in Seattle. My family has been telling me nothing but good stuff about Burt's for years. My mom and brother rave about the andouille sausage, so I was looking forward to checking it out when I came down to visit family. As soon as I walked in I knew that I was home. The place was packed, and my nose and stomach told me that this was the place to be, hungry or not.

It was clean and they have good customer service. The ladies in the deli were like bees on a flower buzzing around making sure customers got what they came for.

They also have a good selection of meats at very reasonable prices. I wasn't planning on getting anything till I saw the deli and my mouth started to water. Before I knew it I had ordered big containers of gumbo, pinto beans, dirty rice, and peach cobbler. This stuff is the real deal. I had some and froze the rest for my return to Seattle in a few days to share with my family. For $38 I got enough food to have a plate for myself and easily feed 3 people.

They don't have seating but I saw a few folks sitting in their car chowing down. Did I say it was delicious? Well it was, and I can't wait to get back to Seattle to have a proper sit down with my family.

Burt's is where its at!! The next time I'm in Houston, this will be one of the first stops I make. In the mean time, I'm going to try and talk my brother into sharing some of his sausage with me.

The service during the lunch hour is super slow, & you will burn up your time waiting in line to order, but the wait is definitely worth it. Gumbo was good but the boudain was amazing. Regret not buying a few pounds from the meat market so now I will have to return.

They have the best smoked boudin in the country. Hand's down. Service was great. Just like a great mom and pop store should be.
