Nice decor. Friendly servers. Meals were promptly served. Ordered “Principal Burger” and “Mac & Cheese Burger” which was off the menu. Principal burger tasted above average. Truffle fries were sprinkled with powdered cheese and scallions - tasted pretty good but not wow. Now next, the off the menu “Mac & Cheese”, five stars for the presentation and creativity. The “buns” were made of Mac and Cheese, coated with flour n some red pepper. Tasted alright. The patty was just too salty to my liking. Yes saltier than the bacon pieces in the burger. The saltiness overwhelmed the burger and I could not taste the other parts of the burger well. Lemonade was good as well. Refreshing. Washing down the salty patty.
The bartender, Johnny, was a wonderful conversationalist and incredibly delightful. Not only has Bernie's turned into a full serviced restaurant, which has been something long overdue, but they've also hired the right kind of people. Food has never disappointed and the level of service they have at their diners only makes the experience even better. Thank you Bernie!!!
Amazed by how good the hamburgers are (very big juicy and tasty, a little expensive but this is fully justified). This is a place for a special day and not for every day. Book a suite - it's cool. The bartenders are very friendly. Good binge. All at the highest level, a very nice place to visit. Highly recommend
Of all the great local restaurants, Bernie's received our vote for the "best bites". They had two burgers that they were serving. I had the Kindergarten, very-very good. They had their burger bus cooking on site, the food was hot and fresh, and makes me want to use them as a caterer if I had the opportunity. Hey, with all the OUTSTANDING restaurants in the Heights, a #1 vote speaks volumes!
Delicious but expensive. I got one of the classic -style burgers and it was very tasty. I loveeee the homemade ketchup! The meat tasted fresh, and the pickles were wonderful as well. I got a combo, which included the burger, truffle fries, and a drink (I got a lemonade, which was very refreshing!) and that was about $15. I will be back, but it won’t be a regular thing, simply because it’s pretty steep for a burger. I wish that when I got the burger with no bun they used a different type of lettuce, other than shredded iceberg.
