Cleburne Cafeteria

Discovered Cleburne Cafeteria in 2010, had it often till I graduated college and left Houston. Upon my return this year I decided to come back and although it has been rebuilt following a fire, this place is still just as amazing as it used to be. The staff is very friendly, attentive and willing to help. The food is so tasty and the portion size is very generous. The desserts are like heaven, the meringue is as tall as a mountain and the cakes so sweet. This is forever a Houston classic!

The amount of food they serve you here...bring your appetite with you! The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Very clean and organized. You gotta come here and bring the family!

If you are hungry for some good home cooking this is where you need to go. Choices are plentiful as well as the portions. Food is amazing and the staff could not be any nicer. I love the cafeteria style service and make sure you save room for dessert ! You will never be disappointed here ????

This place is always packed and popular. There's always great seating available though. The options and the service line are plentiful and all delicious so far. I have not tried anything that I didn't like. We went as a large group and tried many different dishes. I got the chicken fried chicken. I can only wish that it was bigger. It seems like all the other dishes are large and in charge, but the chicken fried chicken is normal one serving size. LOL! It's not a complaint, it's just a wish for more. The kids all had great auctions and more than they can eat. There's always a plate to take home. The desserts are very affordable and have at least four servings attached to each. All in all, my family really enjoyed it.

I was really excited to try this place, but I was sorely disappointed. First, though, we had excellent service, so the people are great. But oh, the food...

The potato salad and mashed potatoes were fine, but the chopped steak and chicken. fried steak were a bust. The cucumber salad didn't have enough vinegar, and the bread rolls tasted like they had the missing vinegar in them. The mac and cheese was unremarkable as well.

I haven't been to a good cafeteria in a long while, and I was hoping to find a good one. It was full of people, so somebody likes the food. It just isn't for me.
