Degust

I don’t write reviews as often as I should, but I felt compelled to write one for Degust. This is a special place that provided a uniquely enjoyable dining experience. Award-worthy tasting menu influences from Spain, Mexico, and Japan that could only be enhanced by their amazing wine/beverage pairing. Chef Brandon Silva and his brilliant staff made our visit one we won’t soon forget. And, given their social distancing practices and small number of seats, we felt safe the entire time. And, don't forget to grab a drink at Diversion which is attached to Degust. We already can’t wait to go back!

WOW, what an amazing experience! I ordered the meat and my wife ordered the vegetarian so we could share the plates but many times neither of us wanted to share our course. I definitely recommend getting the paring, every drink went perfectly with each course. We haven’t been out to many restaurants since COVID but felt very safe with the partitions to separate you between other diners and the partition to separate you from the servers and chefs. Brandon did an amazing job explaining each dish that came out and what they mean to him. So nice to hear the passion that chefs have for the food they serve directly from them. It was almost like performance art. I was also really impressed to hear how much of the food they grow themselves.

I can easily say that Degust is the best dining experience we have had in Houston. It was clear that a lot of thought and attention was put into the restaurant’s decor and menu. Each course was unique, complex, interesting, and bursting with flavor. Definitely get the wine/alcohol pairing - all I have to say is wow. They also did a great job of social distancing – we felt so safe the whole night. All in all, this was an amazing and fun experience - thanks to Exec Chef Brandon Silva, his chefs and staff. My recommendation…go and make your reservation today!

Houston has such an amazing food scene. To say that Degust is nothing at all like anything you will find here in the city is flat out impressive. With the Catalan, Mexican, and Japanese influences Chef Brandon shows why he is one of the most talented chefs in the business today. You get front and center seats which I love and see the magic happen as the dishes are created and served. The chef and his amazing staff guide you through a delicious journey. You will undoubtedly walk away saying I've never tasted anything like that one dish. It's creative, it's yummy, and it's presented beautifully. The pairings work perfectly with each course. Cool concept, fun vibe, and decadent food and drinks. Can't wait to go back!

Really fun atmosphere! Cool little stories chef Silva told about each plate. The food was spot on and good vibes! I'm definitely getting the truffle upgrade next time around 😁
