Duchess introduced its brunch menu this weekend. It was phenomenal.
Food/Drink:
Cocktail: I am a spicy person so I ordered the Scorpion Kiss. It was literally fire...trust me. I will definitely order again. My friend had the Kyoto Spring which they described as refreshing.
The food: Appetizer - Red Snapper Crudo had a very bright flavor and was the perfect teaser for the greatness to come. Spicy Chicken and Waffles come with jalapeno bacon jam and maple syrup. It is listed as an appetizer, but if you are a light eater, it is the perfect size for breakfast. Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict (1 of 5 benedicts they offer) was described by my friend as the best Benedict they've had in the city. In short, everything that hit the table was amazing. At the end of our meal Chef Marco came out to meet us and get our critique on the food...very nice touch.
Service: Minh for the freaking win! Minh was our server and truly knocked it out of the park. He was able to offer great suggestions coupled with pictures to help us make up our mind. You can tell he knows his culinary stuff and his ENERGY was off the charts. He gave us the right amount of attention and was very conscientious about providing best in class service. If his section is available, I highly recommend!
Atmosphere: Very upscale classy vibe. The music was not my vibe, I would've preferred jazz...but definitely not a deal breaker.
**my pic of chicken and waffles does not depict how it is served...I just prefer my syrup and bacon jam on the side**
Went for a romantic date with wifey. Atmosphere cute and chic.
She loved this place. You can smell the kitchen and wood fire when you walk in. The food and drink presentation are spot on. Was even happy to see the chef come out and asked how was everything was and had the chance express our gratitude.
We dined here yesterday evening for Dinner with some dear friends of ours. The food was excellent and the service was spectacular. Several of us tried the chicken kebab dish and it was good. We also tried several of the appetizers and it was delicious as well. For dessert we tried the rose looking dessert and the donuts. I liked the donuts way better. All in all, we had a great dining experience! I highly recommend this place. Only complaint I can think of was that our table was a bit cramped for the 6 of us. Parking can get a bit tricky so arrive early. Cheers!
Stepping into Duchess in Houston's Uptown Park was akin to entering a realm of culinary sophistication and charm. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance enveloped me in its elegance - with exquisite peony wallpaper, sumptuous emerald velvet booths, and captivating mid-century modern chandeliers by Ralph Lauren. It's a place where every detail is meticulously crafted to create an unforgettable dining experience.
The menu at Duchess is a testament to culinary excellence, offering a diverse selection that caters to every palate. From the delectable Fig and Prosciutto Salad to the succulent Beef Rib Eye, each dish was a masterpiece in its own right. And let's not forget 'The Rose Duchess' - a divine white chocolate mousse that truly stole the show, transporting me to a state of bliss with every bite.
To complement the culinary delights, I opted for the Mendocino G&T cocktail, a refreshing accompaniment that perfectly enhanced the flavors of each dish. It was a symphony of tastes and textures that left a lasting impression, making the evening truly unforgettable.
Duchess is more than just a restaurant - it's an experience that exceeds all your expectations. From the impeccable service to the exquisite flavors. I cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone seeking a memorable culinary journey in Houston's vibrant dining scene.
Hello Duchess!! With all of the amazing new restaurants opening in Houston over the past 12 months, we are definitely spoiled on the culinary scene. The newly opened Duchess did not disappoint. You're immediately greeted by a beautifully decorated restaurant, boasting gorgeous bold colors and patterns. Our service was also top notch. Very friendly and knowledgeable, with a fun disposition at the same time. The menu is a collection of globally inspired dishes, not representative of any one country or region. The artfully plated dishes with visually tease your senses. The delicious flavors will definitely excite and please your palette. The adults beverages are divine. Perfection! They are as delicious and delectable, as they are beautifully presented. They will soon have an outdoor patio just in time for Spring and Summer. The only problem I can for see is that I live way too close to this new gem!
