I travel for work & always stop here on my way out. As a foodie, I'm going to be honest & say that the food itself is mediocre at best. You pay elevated airport restaurant prices for food that is on par with Denny's or IHOP (& depending on what it is, sometimes not even on par) BUT... I like to sit at the bar & meet new people - plus, I come in to see Becky. Her espresso martinis are 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 & she's always attentive & talkative. If not for Becky, I definitely wouldn't stop in every time I'm at Hobby!
Also, today I ordered the chicken club for the first time & I was pleasantly surprised with how moist the chicken breast was!!!
I had to fly out of Houston for work, and I stopped into GastroHub in the terminal for dinner before heading back home to Tampa! There was no wait to be seated, and my waitress was over to help me and take my drink order immediately. I ordered the chicken california with French fries, water, and coke. The airport was somewhat busy, and the food came out fresh.
Below expectation for food and service. Little things like not cleaning the table before seating, having me drink from a dirty water cup with no straw, saying they’d get ketchup for my fries after I asked and never returning so I’d need to ask a neighbor… and then paying $20 expecting a gourmet burger and getting a less than average one packed with grease and generic bbq sauce, pickles which were not mentioned in the menu so I had to reconstruct it when I picked them out- messy and added annoyance. A long wait for the check. I’d skip this restaurant next time in the airport.
