A favorite for us! How did they find such an amazing chef? And such great wait staff? The outdoor area is charming. Sometimes it's chilly inside so bring a sweater! Sunday brunch is lovely and offers the best sausage! The French fries are excellent. The kale salad is delicious. As I said before ....a favorite!
[May 2024 Update. This has become one of our favorite places, and we darken their doorstep about once a week. Their fan-cooled patio faces eastward and is perfectly situated to eat outside even in hot weather. Highest recommendation!] George's is simply superb. The food is phenomenal and lovingly prepared. We have paid much more for meals that were not nearly this elite. The grilled trout can be upgraded for a small upcharge to include a very generous topping of crab and side dishes (as you can see in the photo). The charcuterie is huge and inventive with everything from high-quality mortadella to fresh honeycomb. The beet salad was fantastic and actually included a generous portion of beets, not the paper-thin slices some restaurants offer and then overcharge. We didn't even make it to the fantastic pasta menu or the HRW offerings. Buttermilk ice cream...how good does that sound when it's 100 degrees? George's has a full bar and a huge covered patio that sits on the east side of the restaurant, meaning it never sees the worst afternoon heat. Plenty of easy parking. Fantastic service from Nicholas and his ninja-like reflexes when we were clumsy. A new favorite!
I cannot say enough good things about George's! First of all, a HUGE shout out to the staff - they literally went through the disgusting, dirty napkins looking for my daughter's lovey. Their commitment to their customers and service was PHENOMENAL and I thank them a million times over. Secondly, let's talk about the food - DELICIOUS! From the appetizers, to the bread, to the main entrees, there was not a bad bite to be had! If you're looking for a happy hour spot, this is your place! We were able to have cocktails and wine one Friday afternoon on the patio while playing mahjong, and it was a perfect atmosphere and a killer price! The patio is darling and the live music on Friday evenings is awesome as well. Will definitely be back for more happy hours with friends and dinners. Thank you John and the rest of the crew for all your hard work and dedication!
A true neighborhood gem! Have been here for dinner a few times and had a great Easter brunch. The staff is always courteous and quick. Food is always super delicious and comes out in a timely fashion. Shrimp and crab bisque is an excellent starter. Also recommend their crab cake, mussels, omelettes, pappardelle bolognese. They are also very kid friendly and have a lot of options on the kids menu. Parking (free) is easy too.
The pizza, luckily I paid 12 bucks for it. It’s over 20 bucks if it wasn’t for happy hour. I hate to say, it was very underdone. One of the other people at my table agreed that hers was as well. There isn’t really any marinara on the one I had when I specifically asked for it. Other than the entree, the appetizers were tasty and the staff was kind.
