First time I tried West African Food, and it was delicious! A fair amount of spicyness, not too little, not too much, just the right amount. Great way to try it for the first time. Very friendly staff and will come back to try more items. Family owned and very welcoming.

I've been here twice, and both times the food has been outstanding! They make everything fresh right there, so you might have to wait 30 minutes or so for your food--so you're not going to get a quick meal here--but the food is totally worth that wait. I'm particularly fond of their yam porridge--if you like yams, you need to try that dish! Seating is comfortable, and the ambiance of the restaurant is actually quite nice. All the staff are helpful, friendly, and professional; when I asked what a couple of the dishes were, they gave me a picture menu and explained some about each dish.

I'm so glad I don't have to drive down to South or Central Houston to get good West African food!

My wife and I visited this place for dinner because we were shopping for a caterer for an upcoming event. We got more than dinner. We felt at home because the staff at this place were so kind and committed to making sure we were satisfied. Food was freshly prepared and very tasty.

They got our business and we are glad they did because everything we ordered was well prepared and ready on time. Also, I would say “all of the guests” had something nice to say about the food. Hunan Cafe are arguably the best West African Restaurant in the Greater Houston Area.

The customer service, outstanding!!
The place is very clean and they treat you like family. I love West African cuisine and always have to drive to the South side of Houston to get good food... not anymore, this is now my new spot!
