Ocean Palace Restaurant

Since their remodel, it seems Ocean Palace has stepped up their dim sum game. Service could be more attentive, but not bad. Unfortunately (for me) it appears that the word is out... be prepared to wait for a table for weekend dim sum.

Beautifully renovated! We were there twice recently. Heard there's a new chef.

The family party had all of my favorites - Cantonese-style lobster, Peking duck, steamed fish. The lobster was a King lobster, weighing at least five pounds! (Sadly, the crab was over-cooked.)

Second visit, I realized the new chef does spicy well. Still, I was surprised when the standard green beans with ground pork came out spicy - it's usually non-spicy. The salt and pepper shrimp was really spicy. It's usually salt and black pepper with some spicy pepper slices in the seasonings. Not sure, but I think this one had a bite with those little round numbing peppers. Still, I would definitely come back to try the dim sum!

First time experience at Ocean Palace. The restaurant itself is very nice inside. It’s worth a visit to see the blooming water lilies out front. There was a man taking photos when I got there and see why as this would make a good back drop for pictures.

I went for dim sum. I ordered a few types of dim sum and found my way through them. My favorite were the truffle pork dumplings and the fried crab. Good experience on the dim sum. I would suggest going with two or more people so the dim sum can be shared better. I closed by ordering two dishes to go. One was really good. The other was a chicken dish. One assumption I made was that it was sliced chicken breast, but for this dish it was chopped up chicken thighs. I would suggest asking more details on each dish to make sure you get the right one.
