Sunshine's Vegetarian Deli & Health Food Store

So good. They give you SO MUCH FOOD. Their prices are fair and i love that it's close to the medical center. It's a great healthy "deli" and everything is packed with vitamins and nutrients. Although, I would stay away from the juices. I remember not liking them.

My family and I were in Houston for the weekend and I googled vegan restaurants and sunshine's poped up close by so we gave it a try. It was amazingly delicious! And Mr. Sunshine himself gave me samples of the raw salads and encouraged me to always start with raw foods as well as doing a 30 day liquid diet ???? which I will try! Just wish I lived in Houston so that I could attend his classes he gives on Saturdays that he also informed me about. It is so important to take care of ourselves and eating his meals would make it enjoyable!!!

Sunshine’s is one of the best vegan/ vegetarian restaurants! I’ve worked my way through the majority of the menu over the years. What keeps me coming back is the consistency of flavor. Everything is so flavorful and seasoned just right! The Garlic Kale salad is an absolute must have item. The way they dress the Beyond Burger reminds me of family barbecues. The Sunshine Nachos are so colorful, tasty, and satisfying. I also appreciate that they support other Black Owned businesses in their convenience section. There’s always a jovial vibe when I visit that makes me want to just sit and stay a while.

I visited a week ago with my husband and in-laws. We super enjoyed it! I had a fabulous juice and a tasty salad plate. The guys loved the taco Tuesday special, but I’ve got my eyes on the spicy nachos. I’ll be back within the week, for sure.

We visited here today and being that I’m new to vegan lifestyle, it was pretty good! The staff was super nice when we walked in. The cashier young lady was quick to offer her opinion on what she thought was the best on the menu. Being that it was our first time visiting I was appreciative for the suggestions! The food is reasonably priced for vegan food. The impossible burger was our favorite! My husband ordered it with a side of kale. I ordered the black bean nachos and I have to say they were pretty good too! They had a little spicy kick to them so have your water ready! I will say this place had LOTS of options of vegan food to choose from even smoothies!! I only have it four stars because the restroom definitely needs a facelift and good cleaning! But while on this journey of healthy eating and healthy living I believe we will visit again soon!
