Theodore Rex

Excellent food! My favorite was definitely the steamed gulf oysters, but really everything is amazing. The environment is really fun as well. I highly recommend Theodore Rex for any special occasion.

Top spot for great food. Seasonal menu. On our visit, we had:
Oysters
Bread
Peas
Farfalle pasta with rabbit
Snapper
Shaved short rib
Frozen yogurt

Each dish was plated beautifully and big on flavor. Lots of fantastic, subtle combinations that were delicious.

Also with an extensive wine selection, we were presented with some truly great parings.

Definitely worth the visit.

My new favorite spot in Houston. Very small and intimate setting but still very cozy and comfortable. The chef personally delivered our appetizers and entrees and explained why he decided that dish was going to be on the menu. Very reasonably priced for the level of service and food you receive. I highly recommend this place if you can get a reservation! *** They only have three group tables so if you want to attend with more then two people you may need to put a reservation in well in advance!

This is our favorite restaurant in Houston. The food is fantastic and the staff are the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff you will meet. The restaurant has been there for many of our milestones, early dates, anniversaries, first born. We've spent many nights there and for good reason; from unique foods, wines and beers, to unique courteous staff. We feel like family and enjoy our nights there always, the intimate setting adds to the allure and views of the kitchen keep you interested in the coming courses. Butter beans are our favorite, as are the dumplings.
