Food, ambiance and staff were AMAZING!! I will definitely be coming back!
Hidden 5-Star! Most people from Houston will skip this amazing restaurant because it's in a hotel (the famous Houstonian). Those people are missing out. This place is perfect for a business lunch/dinner or date night.
The atmosphere is first class, the service is excellent and unpretentious and the food is delicious and interesting. They said Tribute's menu is an homage to Texas, Louisiana and Mexican cooking and they nailed it without making it seem like they are trying too hard.
Our group shared so we all had the chance to try a lot of the items on the menu. The salads were very good, the appetizers were all generous and fantastic. The redfish and lamb were great quality, unique and delicious. I bet the burger rocks here!
We didn't really have room but went ahead with a couple of deserts. They were all fantastic. Finally, the wine list is fantastic but I found the wine by the glass to be really great, which is unusual.
I suspect this restaurant surprises a lot of hotel guests (most hotel restaurants are average at best). I'm sure that most locals wouldn't think to go to The Houstonian to eat but they are missing out.
Check out Tribute. It's really great.
I travel a lot. Nearly always, I avoid eating at the hotel. But today, I just needed a quick lunch and didn’t want to drive. So, I decided to eat here. The quality of the food far surpassed my expectations. The bread is baked on site. The soup and salad were both fantastic. And to top it off, my server was attentive, professional and just sufficiently personal and engaging to make me feel like she cared. Great experience!
Fabulous renovation! We have been thrilled with the upgrade of the old Olivette to the new Tribute. Decor is intimately luxurious, with good sound proofing. Salad choices aplenty and well portioned. Food is a tasty fusion of Continental with a twist of French creole and local flavors. Love the Wagyu rib, Shrimp/Oxtail. Most memorable is the dinner roll, it's brioche like, easily the best restaurant bread I have had in Houston. Tribute is classy without the loud music, so it's perfect for conversation with friends and family. Great job Houstonian!
Absolutely fantastic experience- great food and incredible service. Within 30 seconds of being seated, the staff had already poured me coffee, orange juice and water. They were all so kind, helpful and professional. The food came out fast and hot. Will certainly be back. Thank you so much to the friendly staff working on Christmas Day!
