Van Banh Mi

I'm very picky with my pho and Pho Saigon used to be my absolute favorite place in Houston. Van Banh Mi surpassed a VERY HIGH bar to become my new favorite pho place! The broth is great and the noodles are AMAZING: the texture feels handmade? I'm not sure if it is, but I've never had such luxurious, chewy rice noodles before. The current 3.8 rating is CRAZY to me because their pho is SO good

We order Bun Bo Hue and Bo Ne and we are so surprised how good the food is. Very large portions and the staff is so attentive and caring, it's cherry on top. The waiter gave us extra pate, butter, and bread when he sees we are sharing the one bread, because I just want to try out the flavor first. They are so nice to the customers, I am really happy about it. Finally a Viet Restaurant that can be nice and have good food at the same time.

The place was packed for lunch on Sunday! We initially came in for their hot stone pot pho. The broth was tasty and I loved how the stone pot kept it hot the entire time. I ordered the banh mi Bo ne as well and I would definitely pass on this one. It’s supposed to be steak cubes but it looked like they just used the rare steak for pho lol. I came back for the banh mi and I can say the banh mi is worth coming back. Combination is okay but the heo quay is really good! I recommend the thit nuong as well
