The Wooden Spoon Kitchen and Bakery

This was my first time there, and it was a very positive experience. Every employee we encountered was upbeat and friendly. The owner came over and greeted us at our table and to see how everything was.
You don't see that at a lot of restaurants now.
As for the food, it was lunchtime and since they don't have a lunch menu, I ordered a kids meal with chicken strips and Mac & cheese. Needless to say, it was tasty and just the right portion amounts. I even got my cookie from the cashier when we checked out. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger and fries and it was super juicy and looked great, the only problem (not a bad one) is that it was huge and she could only finish half of it.
When we checked out, the owner was at the counter, so we got to visit with him some more and he was really open to ideas/suggestions and answered some questions that we had about the menu.
All in all, it was good experience and we will be back.

My wife and I heard about this place from a friend. It was really busy for lunch which is always a good sign. My wife had the chicken fried steak which was delicious with a good steak to breading ratio. I had the grilled pork chops which were slightly overdone but still delicious. The side dishes with both entrees were delicious.

The food was absolutely amazing for the price, a very nice serving for the burger I got with fries and onion rings, everyone was very friendly and they are very handicapped accessible. Our server was very outgoing and friendly and made sure our experience was one to remember witch is what I look for when trying somewhere new with the culinary experience I have. I look forward to payday so I get to go and dine in again!!!!

Passing through La Porte and stopped in (by recommendation). Was not disappointed. Generous and tasty chicken fried steak, awesome green beans, etc. Also picked up slices of pecan pie and chocolate meringue. Reasonable prices and great service! Will definitely go back.

Nice eatery in a small neighborhood strip. It has only been there for 3 months. The raves have been really good from people we know and the neighborhood app. We tried it out and were a little disappointed. I tried the chicken fried chicken. It was very good. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and was not so lucky. He only likes a very light batter on it and this came with a heavy one. He pulled it all off. Unfortunately the steak and batter had been burned pretty badly and he couldn't eat most of it. I don't understand restaurants sending burned out to a customer. The cook should just cook another of what was burned. We will try one more time and see how it goes. I have heard that the fried shrimp is wonderful.
