Mom Alone Mexican Grill

Great service, food was good. Full bar, but not a lot of access to it. Kid friendly, but not really, it was very very quiet. Library quiet. What I really enjoyed was the homey feel to it. The atmosphere was great and made me like I was eating dinner at my grandma's house. I liked it over all.

Food was super super super delicious. The waiter was very friendly and kind. Food (chip queso and salsa) was served as soon as you sit and they were on top of refills and the in side was very nice clean and roomy.

I've passed this place so many times over the years. I'm kicking myself for not trying it earlier. The location keeps it from being a stopping point for a lot of people leaving the area after a day one of the attractions on that side, and the outer appearance does little to justify what's actually inside. The decor is gorgeous; quiet and moody. The staff is amazing. Service was perfect. The food is great and the prices are decent. The bar isn't quite as extensive as similar places but still has plenty of options. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food at a decent price in a wonderful atmosphere, this is the place. My one complaint is that the mole was a little sweet. I'm used to a tangy, spicier mole. But it was still great. And their carne guisada was the best I've had in a long time.

Good food. Maybe a bit pricey compared to other places with similar fair, but the decor is nicer. Service is good but both times I ate there the food took a while to get back to our table after ordering.

I fear that the outside appearance and the odd location will cause many to pass Mom Alone by. But sadly that will cause you to miss very good food, at a reasonable price and a good quantity. The staff is friendly and attentive. There is a reasonable workday crowd of local workers but not overwhelming. I suggest you give MA a try if you like good TexMex and don't mind "appearances". I've been back several times.
