XIT Woodfire Grill

We had a short wait to be seated at this Very Busy & Popular Restaurant. Waitress asked for drinks and suggested appetizers, we only ordered Drinks! David got a cold beer and I chose water with lemon.
We then waited for a while before we were able to order.
I ordered Pulled Pork, Sweet Potato, and applesauce. David got a Steak (Tri Tip) as they ran out of Prime Rib. It came with Baked Sweet Potato, and Green beans.

I realized they were busy, but I'm certain we sat with only our drinks for nearly 20- 30 minutes. Sadly, the Kitchen was so busy and we finally got our plates our food was cold. We both agreed we should've asked ou waitress to heat them up.

But, as our waitress was about 3-4 weeks new, we tried to explain the "Kitchen should've made sure any food was not cold!" (Not the waitress.)
Once we explained our reasons, she did offer a free dessert. Because both our meals were pricey, David asked for a dessert for each of us.
We don't Blame our waitress and gave her some tips. We still gave her a 20% tip.
Management NEEDS to address the issues of cold food, and long wait time.

We had the chicken fried steak and shrimp basket. The chicken fried steak was one of the best I ever had, and the cream gravy tasted like it was made from scratch and not the watery stuff some places serve. Large shrimp with the shrimp basket tasted great.

This place blew us away! It was phenomenal! Everything had awesome flavor! Jalapeno poppers had nice thick bacon, chicken fried steak had a nice light batter and delicious gravy, sweet potato fries were the perfect thickness and texture, the brisket and ribs were OMG amazing! (Delicious smoke bark, definitely no corners were cut there!) There was also a surprisingly comprehensive salad bar. Very clean inside and great service. We got there at opening and there was quite the crowd forming by the time we left! The only downside to this place is that it isn't closer to home! HIGHLY recommend.

Stopped by here on our way out of Texas. We all got different plates and everyone loved their food! Really great sweet potato fries!!!
