EVO Cinemas Belterra + IMAX

I had an extraordinary cinematic experience at the IMAX theater near Dripping Springs in Belterra, Texas at this new EVO site! The state-of-the-art IMAX technology provided unparalleled visual immersion, making the movie truly come to life. The added bonus of an arcade heightened the entertainment value, offering pre or post-movie fun. The presence of a well-equipped bar allowed for a delightful evening with refreshing drinks. The friendly staff and overall atmosphere created a memorable movie night. This IMAX theater in Belterra is a must-visit for cinema enthusiasts looking for a top-notch experience with extra perks! It’s a short drive from Kyle or Buda, And I’m glad to see Austin have another IMAX option!! — and my wife swears that they have the best calibrated Coke machine around!!!

December 2023:

My wife and I arrived at ECO Cinemas to see Wonka in the new IMAX theater. The movie was good where before seeing it ordered Chicken Tenders. The three big chicken tenders were fulfilling and tasted good. It came with fries and was not bad either. The staff was very friendly.

If you never been here then the process is you check in first at the counter, order your food, and will be delivered to your seat. We arrived about 30 minutes before the movie time. The theaters are upstairs but on the bottom you will find a game arcade to win tickets in exchange for prizes. A small room is available for meetings or parties.

The IMAX theater was big with stadium seating in leather recycling chairs. A small swivel table in front of you. The screen was huge and with the IMAX Laser projector the picture was sharp with great sound.

Fun experience every time I went here. They have the really nice leaning back chairs and trays at every seat! The popcorn and coke is a little bit on the expensive side, but I guess it makes sense cause it's a movie theater. The staff are either really nice and friendly or the exact opposite. You just gotta get a good day! Also, Benjamin Clark, a past employee, was amazing!! He would serve people with a smile on his face, even on very busy days!!

I have recently seen a couple films here. Overall it is relatively nice spot. Both times, the place was pretty dirty and floor was sticky, but I went late in Sunday after busy weekends so I will cut them slack on the cleanliness. The food was not that great compared with Alamo drafthouse or even the burger joint in the parking lot. The beers were good though! ;-) The ordering from your seat via phone web-app is interesting but has a big bug in the sense that it is very difficult to reorder a beer as you have to pull out the credit card and try to enter all the info under the glow of the film. Basically a no go - and if you order two beers up front, one is going to be warm. It is a small picky detail I know. The location is good and they have plenty of parking. I think next time I go, I will stick with popcorn and eat at the hat creek hamburger joint in the parking lot. I do recommend EVO if you live in the Belterra area.
