Probably one of the cheapest buffets you will find with sushi in it. And while the food may not be the best, it is still worth going if you are down for some cheap all you can eat sushi.
12 bucks is the fee to be able eat whatever you want inside. I thought it was unbelievable. I'm surprised they earn a profit this way.
Food options are what you expect at a cheaper buffet. Lots of fried stuff with standard stuff like fried rice, chow mein, etc. When it comes to sushi, most of them are just similar ingredients mixed around. You will find cream cheese in around half of the rolls so if you are like me and don't like cream cheese in your sushi, you'll still at least have half of the place to explore.
Nothing tasted great but nothing tasted bad either. Although they use cheaper ingredients like imitation crab, none of the rolls tasted past their prime. Even the ones with fish did not have an off flavor. I was happy to know I could go back and get as many refills as I wanted.
So for 12 bucks, I don't think you can expect much better. For this price, I was happy with the variety of options. And since I didn't get food poisoning, I'd be happy to go back again!
This was the best buffet that I have had while coming to McAllen and I have tried the other two bigger restaurants. The selection is not as extensive as lims or the other China Buffet but the food quality is substantially better and the ability to have all of the sushi options was really a great bonus. Food was being changed on a regular basis and thus was always hot. They seem to have a pretty robust takeout business so that might help the food turn over more.
Quite nice of an establishment. Huge variety of sushi rolls. Very clean too. Wait staff was excellent, very attentive. Great value for what you get.
The food was ok. I don't know if it's because we came really late at night, but the food was ok. Fried foods in general are not all that great sitting for a buffet and majority of dishes was fried. Like fried egg roll, fried tempura, fried chicken wing, etc. The fried rice was good, little oily but good. Our waiter was very nice and attentive, so this was a good experience for first time.
The food here is pretty good, their fried rice is delicious, so is their teriyaki chicken and Mongolian beef.
The sushi options are good however I wish they had more warm sushi options cooked with panko would be amazing.
Overall The food is good and the price is okay, i recommend it.
