Taqueria Los Cuates

Flavor is 5/5. The fajita tacos are delicious. The meat is juicy and tender and you get all meat, there is none of that nasty business where you get half edible meat and half tough gristle, here every single one of my tacos contained 100% delicious edible meat.
The array of salsas you get is unexpected. You get 4 different salsas of increasing heat levels, you get a container of pickled onions and another container of onions that are grilled and covered in some spices. You get a nice fat juicy lime that yields enough juice for your meal. There is also a container of some delicious cream (it is not sour cream, it is almost like milky cream, and I think it's to relieve the mouth from the intense heat that one of the salsas packs).

Ambience is 4/5. I got my order to go, but I did have to go inside and place my order with the lady at the register. The woman who took my order was immediately attentive as soon as I walked in. She explained the menu out loud to me, (I wish there was a menu printed out or on display). She answered the questions I had and she rang me up without any incident. The man making tacos hardly looked at me and was not distracted from his conversation with other patrons. A second woman behind the counter was friendly and offered me a drink.
The décor of the place is a little lacking in ambience but makes up for it with funny writings about tacos made in sharpies all along the 4 walls.

Value is 3/5. I paid around 14 dollars for the 5 tacos. The meal did not include a drink, any beans, or what traditionally is given with an order of tacos. Although I understand that most of the cost of the tacos goes into the high quality of the meat, I would have loved for my tacos to be double tortilla'ed. The fact that tacos use 1 tortilla is a huge pet peeve of mine. corn tortillas are not expensive, you have the opportunity to increase the value of the food by a huge margin at little to no cost. Even a small side like some totopos or a small 4 ounce container of beans would make me consider the meal to be a good value for the money I paid.

I might visit this place again if I am in the area and it is late and I am craving some delicious tacos and they have a special. Otherwise I don't see myself paying almost 3 dollars a taco for little taqueria-style tacos like these.

my only take away for not coming here again is that I paid $29 for 2 orders of tacos that’s about 14.50 for an order! Sure they were good pero no se la bañen son tacos. Anywhere else you can get an order of tacos for half of that price. Mind you also that they don’t come with beans, papa, nor a drink only 5 tacos and a few packets of salsa.
