We ordered the Trinity which is 1 lb of brisket, ribs, and sausage. The Chile pequin and cheddar sausage has a great burst of heat, doesn't linger. The crispy skin pork belly doesn't disappoint with it's extra crunchy outer layer and soft belly. The ribs were soft, moist, and flavorful. The beef fat chocolate chip cookie has a deep molasses flavor with a soft chewy texture, not beefy at all in flavor. Mac and cheese and potatoe salad also live up to expectations. Pickles are fabulously crunchy. They do sell out but we went at 12:15 and they still had everything.
The pork belly was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! PLEASE TRY THE PORK BELLY! It has a chicharron flavor almost, but then moist and cooked under. Foodies’ paradise! Get there early or it WILL SELL OUT! The brisket was moist and very well seasoned. Rice on POINT! Frijoles charros amazing! Mac and cheese was a little over cooked to me and was a bit too liquidy, but good nonetheless. Potato salad was also DELICIOUS! Pork ribs were perfect! Ya!ll! The tortillas de harina alone were deliciosas! Chocolate chip cookies are salted and AMAZING! Smokin Moon better watch out for this joint!!! Some constructive CRITICISM: the ordering layout/method is way too slow. There were about 4 orders/people ahead of us and it took about 35 minutes. They might be understaffed, not sure, but it does take a very long time to order and get the food. Is it worth the wait? ABSOLUTELY! Keep it up guys!
There’s a reason Valley foodies and Texas Monthly is raving about Teddy’s BBQ. It’s VERY good. As you can see (by the pics) we tasted most of their offerings. Brisket, Pork Belly, Beef Ribs, Pork Ribs, 2 of their Sausages (Chili Piquin and Serrano) and most of their side dishes (Bernie Mac, Cream Corn, Beans and Potato Salad) too. All the meat choices were excellent. The Bernie Mac and Cream Corn need a little tweaking in my opinion but the Potato Salad, as simple as it seems, brought back memories of my Mom’s potato salad. Definitely recommend.
Second time's the charm, it would seem. I'll be honest, the first time I had Teddy's was a bit of a mixed bag; the brisket amd burnt ends were absolutely amazing, but the ribs and turkey fell flat, as did the Mac and cheese and cream corn. Having it in restaurant was a completely 180 for me. The brisket was just as good as I remembered, the sliced pork belly was juicy and rich, and the jalapeño cheddar sausage was spot on. And the Bernie Mac was legit this time around, and I found that they had real homemade potato salad that reminded me of home. Seriously good stuff, but what really tied everything together was the beef tallow tortillas. Made fresh to order, they are absolutely worth the money. I'm fully impressed with Teddy's, can't wait to come back!
Tried the Smash Burger combo. It was a bit basic for me, but very moist while not overly greasy. Didn't walk away feeling sick in my stomach like I usually do after eating Whataburger. My family and I definitely have to do this again next time and this time with more family.
