Pretty average, serving small, price high. Got a burrito from another place the next day that was bigger better and $2 less. Service great, place clean, grow was great.
Coming through here on a Sunday afternoon it’s one of the only two places open- until 3 pm. They serve American and Mexican food – until they run out.
Cash only-no plastic.
Brisket tacos had a lot of fat and very bland.
Avocado hamburger was freshly made. The burger was mushy, and the shoestring fries were cold - probably because they were sitting in the window waiting awhile to be delivered. I had to walk up to get our food.
A cook and server/cashier manning the joint.
Inside seats about 30.
Outside has a decent sitting area.
Fountain drinks had a good syrup ratio. Water had a good taste, too.
Happy they were open.
The Asado burrito is the best I have ever had. Asado is basically “Red Chili and pork” and a staple in this area. This is highly recommended! HOWEVER! The price is outrageous. My wife and I had 1 burrito, 1 migas and drinks $29.23👀👀👀WOW. CRAZY PRICING. I CANT Afford $14.00 burritos! (It was delicious) You should really get one of these, it is life changing.
While everything else at Lupita's Place is great, pricing drops the rating.
Sitting on the North-end of Fort Davis, at the junction of Hwy's 17 & 188N, the location is quaint, clean and staffed with friendly folks. The food is fresh and well prepared.
But, with the restaurant being in a town sought out by Tourists and campers, the prices are much higher than the norm. Lupita's Place is not alone, as the other eateries in town share in the greed.
I ate there twice, first time ordering the "Texas Tornado Burrito", a brisket based item which was quite good; but for $9 plus tax, it was a relatively small burrito and left me still hungry afterwards, and ordering two would have made for a very pricey lunch.
The second visit was more satisfying.. ordering the Brisket Tacos. Plated were three medium-sized, soft tacos, topped with diced tomato and lettuce, with a side of rice. Still quite pricey at $12, but at least I left with a full tummy.
So overall, taking into account that all of the other eateries in town are over-priced, the food at Lupita's Place is higher quality.
