Amazing food, great waitstaff, superb Chef and phenomenal owners!! The Dijon Shrimp pasta and Cauliflower Steak are delicious!
Overall, I was pretty disappointed, Especially when compared to Republic Chicken. The menu prices were more spendy and the entrees were fairly small portions. We ordered the buffalo quail as an appetizer; the quail was dry and pretty flavorless. As pictured the quail had what I would describe as "hairs" sticking out of it. I am by no means an expert on quail meat and what is acceptable, but that was pretty unappetizing to discover. My husband had the duck breast, a very small portion of meat and we were unimpressed with the quality of the meat. I had the cornmeal catfish with "queso blanco". Even though the queso was yellow it was a good portion of meat and definitely the best tasting dish overall!
Texana Grill was a great date night experience for us! We had wonderful service and the food was DELICIOUS! We shared the tuna nachos, which were SO tasty. I had the duck entree and it was perfectly cooked. The sauce on it is 10/10! My husband had the pork ribeye and loved every bite! We shared the mixed berry cobbler for dessert and it was such a sweet way to end a great meal! We will be going back for sure!
Came for the last time a few weeks ago when this was Republic Chicken and had bad food but good service. We thought we'd come back today and try out the new menu with Texana Grill. Service was great and most of the food itself was excellent although very small portions for the price. One fork had bits of dried food on it from dishwashers which I pointed out to the waitress. Waitress placed the incorrect order for my son's food, so he had to wait 20 more minutes for the grilled cheese plate while we fed him off our plates. However very appologetic and nice. Only complaint about the food was the parmesan potatoes. Very bland and desperately needed salt. The cooks were painfully slow when we were only one of four tables to serve so it wasn't busy. However the food is very good so I guess you can say it's worth the wait. I know this place just started and they are training but customers seeing nine people just standing around gossiping is not a good first impression. Most did this for the majority of our visit which was over an hour. On a good note the waitress comped my kid's food for the mistake and offer a free dessert. Since they made it right, and they are still learning, I will try this place again, but not too soon. I believe for the price, food wait time, and small portions, this place should definitely provide complimentary rolls, cornbread, or chips and salsa. It would have made the meal more complete and satisfying in my opinion. They've got a little ways to go to get 5 stars from me but I am a brutally honest food critic.
