“Great little place to stop on the way to South Padre island or corpus Christi. The wait that staff was very helpful and friendly and took my to-go order and got it back to me within a few minutes. I ordered two barbacoa tacos and a local taco and they all tasted very good very big tacos and it came out to under $9 . Mostly full of men from the oilfield a hard-working group of people.”

Before topping were on the sub or even choose the cashier was asking to ring me out. After paying and getting my sub the viatiam water on the fountain was out, I asked about it and was told they would check it out and give them a minute. 8 or 9 minutes later nobody got back to me so I tried the minute maid lemonade. It was out so I tried the tea. It was out as well. So I asked again how Was The progress on the V Water going. That's when the cashier said why don't you try the fountain machine in the back Of The store. I wish she told me about it as soon as I said your out of V water.”

“Maggie's is the definition of south Texas homemade Mexican food. Her breakfast tacos are the best and she makes them just like you like them. On saturdays you can order you a big bowl or two of her homemade, never microwaved fresh menudo and you might want to order more corn tortillas cause they are homemade and are the best! Myself and work crews are from SAM surveying out of dallas and she treated us like family every time we came in no matter if we were eating in or if it was to-go! Thank you for the hospitality!!”

“Not what it used to be. I know things change but if it's still "Shorty's", keep the menu as it was. The nice thing about it is that the salad hasn't change too much. Although, I still prefer the simple salad: lettuce and shredded carrots and crispy toppings with Ranch dressing. They've added a few cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. Okra is different. Old recipe was the best! Steaks...not too flavorful. Expensive dining.”
