I had heard so much about Comfort Pizza from my San Antonio friends. So when we were there for Spring Break last week with the kids we decided to make the 47 mile drive to check it out. And boy, IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! I am so glad I called ahead to reserve our dough a day ahead. I can see why you have to reserve it in advance. The dough was SO good. My kids are still talking about it a week later! They all said it was the BEST pizza they have EVER had. My kids want me to bring back pizza from there the next time I go to San Antonio for business. We will definitely be back and every chance I get I will be getting pizza from there. It was worth the drive!
What a miracle to find such a young pizzaiolo in the beautiful town of Comfort, TX! Excellent artisinal pizza and great beer selections.
Thin, sour dough, crust baked to perfection in a wood fired oven. There may be better pizza in the area, but if so, I haven’t found it yet. We regularly make the 30 mile trek up from San Antonio just for Comfort Pizza. Pro tip - they can run out of crust dough on busy weekends - if you call ahead they will reserve a crust for you.
This was a really good pizza place. One thing to note, we ordered the Sei Cheese and Basil and Garlic pizza and neither came with pizza sauce. I'm not sure if it's on certain pizzas, but this surprised us. Just a heads up for first timers. The pizza was really good and they load up the ingredients. Nice selection of drinks Including soda, beer and wine. Really nice outdoor seating and night lights. Lots of bees though.
