It was great food and service. The senior menu was fantastic. The atmosphere is 'Texas hill country'. I had the catfish, would highly recommend it. Wonderful place for couples and families, young and old.

Drove to Kerrville on my motorcycle, scoping out a new place to kayak fish the Guadalupe River. Was hungry and spotted The Lakehouse along the river. Brianna waited on me. What a sweet and kind young woman she is! She gave me info on fishing, water access and area. I enjoyed talking with her. I ordered the breaded pork cutlet with cole slaw, fried okra, green beans and hush puppies. All was excellent! Sat at window table looking out over Lake Nimitz. Beautiful! Will be back to fish the Lake and try the fried catfish. Prices are very reasonable and they serve you hearty portions.

Stopped in for a late dinner or an early supper.....whichever. Food was great and the service better. I'm from Louisiana, so I know catfish and this was pretty darn good. Wife had shrimp and thought they were good as well. All the sides were good. The pinto beans were "different", but very good. Portions were good and the price was about what you would expect. Piping hot, nice flakey white fish. Wish i had noted our waitress' name cause she was very attentive with a great personality. Overall a very enjoyable supper and we will be back.

Great food (except the okra had a lot of spiny pieces in it, fried & in the gumbo) and great service! My appetizer was a cup of catfish gumbo, (a little spicy) which came with two small hush puppies. The hush puppies are good, but a bit on the small side. She also brought some crackers in a basket with tartar & cocktail sauce, and butter. I had the catfish & shrimp plate, it came with 4 small pieces of catfish and three large fried shrimp. (they both had a wonderful light, crispy crust), fried okra & a very good baked potato! The meal has a choice of hush puppies or a roll. I chose the roll, which was very good.

I had an awesome view of the river, even from my elevated booth area towards the middle of the restaurant. I wish they had booths right by the window, instead of hard wood chairs. The room felt a little warm to me, but then I'm always hot flashing so..????????
    I would definitely recommend it!
