My husband and I stopped here for some food on our way home. I ordered the smoked ham with pepperjack on a jalapeño cheddar bun, and my husband had the chopped bbq brisket on a jalapeño cheddar bun and we both loved it. The place was packed, and the service was great.
Badlands was a food oasis in a food desert. Town after dying town was only a Sonic or Dairy Queen to choose from. My smoked turkey sandwich on Sourdough was delicious. My hubby enjoyed his ham sandwich also.
If u need to call look for ranchlands number. Called I a burger was ready when I got there. Well worth the price, hot fresh and the way I ordered it.friendly staff. If ur passing through get a burger they are really good.
There was room enough to park our motorcoach and tow out back, so we decided to stop here for lunch because we hadn’t seen an eatery of any kind in 50+ miles and the next town is 33 more miles down the road.
Much of the food is just what you’d expect at a truck stop (fried deli-case selection) but the sandwiches are made to order. We bought a “chopped beef, with BBQ sauce, pickles and onions on a jalapeño sourdough Ciabatta style roll”. The bread was fresh and the jalapeño flavor was mild but not hot. The beef was moist and the BBQ sauce tasty. Be sure to order the BBQ sauce or your favorite condiments - the sandwich will be served dry if you don’t. The staff was friendly and attentive. Unexpectedly, if you walk down the hall past the restrooms, you’ll find a small indoor dining area. We would not hesitate to stop here again if we come through here at lunchtime.
