Hallettsville has needed a barbecue place like this for a long time: great barbecue open on weekdays (they’re also open on weekends)! They just opened Aug. 3. Female pit master Tanya served up ribs that were succulent, flavorful and smoky - just what a Texan looks for. She also caters. They have other things available that are unique to the area, such as boudin, which is a regular on the menu. Friday, they also had a special item: stuffed turkey legs (how do you do that?) Looking forward to trying the brisket, sausage, stuffed baked potato, etc. Eat in or take out. There’s a drive- through. City Park isn’t far, so you can take it there if the dining room is too crowded.
