First time arriving here can be a little confusing. The person I think was the hostess was sitting down and we couldn’t see her immediately when we walked in. She then told us we could find out own place to sit which we did. Eventually a young lady brought us menus and we chose what we eat.

Highly recommend the 2 pork chops meal. They were really really good!!!

The staff was super friendly. I had the grilled cheese. It was delicious. The place is dark cozy and cool. If you are in Shiner and want somewhere good to eat, then this is the place to go.

It started out a little rough due to the servers not being able to figure out which of them our table belonged to. They took our drink order when we sat down but never brought us drinks. About 15-20 minutes after sitting and reviewing the menu a server started to help us. First she retook our drink order making no eye contact or greeting, it appeared she was inconvenienced or possibly distracted. Before she could walk away I asked if she could take our order. This is where the experience started to improve due to the quick turnaround on the food. The fried pickles and potato skins were pretty good appetizers. Our entrees were good .

This place seemed to be the consensus choice among townspeople. The food is decent, and it is your standard American fare. They have a pretty good drink choices with it’s immediate vicinity to Spoetzl. Is the food the best you’ll ever have? No. Is it decent and reasonably priced? Yes. So try it out if in town.
