The Roost

The buffet was wonderful. Had the liver and onions, very delicious! The staff was great! Very helpful. ????????❤❤

I was having mixed feeling about this place from hearing different types of reviews. But I can actually say that I enjoyed it! I had the chicken fried chicken with mac-n-cheese and mashed potatoes. It was spot on! The cook Chris really outdid himself. My waitress Chelsea was amazing. Constantly asking if everything was okay. The hostess always with a smile. Will definitely come more often if I’m in town!

Wow finally some amazing Southern cooking in Hondo. The food was terrific. The service was spot on. I felt like I was eating at a family gathering.
They also seated my service animal. (Always a factor is how restaurants react to my animal)

The Roost exceeded all my expectations.

My husband and I stopped by a little after 3pm on Sunday. We didn't know that they closed at 3 on Sunday, but a very nice gentleman welcomed us in even though they had already locked up for the day. He escorted us to the buffet. I chose the fried chicken with sides, and my husband chose the fish. The fried chicken was amazing. I have never had fried chicken that was soooooo juicy!
It was the best ever!!! My husband enjoyed his fish and sides so much he went back for seconds.
I recommend the Roost and we will be back soon. I can't wait to have breakfast at the Roost.

I would have given 5 stars, but I believe you have to keep reaching for that 5th star.

It was food, but I can't say much more than that. A little spices go a long way. Give them a chance because I think they'll get better. Clean, friendly and attentive staff.
