McKenzie's Barbeque

I had the 5 rib plate.... very delicious. People always talk about "fall off the bone" but a good rib has a nice bite. My ribs were competition good......a good bite! Got the bbq chicken baked potato for my wife, she loved it. The chicken was flavorful and juicy.

Great food and great service. The owners makes it a point to meet every one as they arrive. Very good family owned location. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area or even passing through.

I'm no barbecue expert, FYI. But the food was great, including the sides. Ordered the 2 meat special at lunch. Fast service, friendly folks. I was so stuffed I just had an apple for dinner...

Food was great, I ate here two days in a row while in town. Only issue I had was I didn't get everything I order to go the first day, order a brisket and chicken plate, but when I got back to work the chicken wasn't there. It was on the receipt. Second day I ate there with a co-worker for burger day and ordered bacon on my burger, but didn't get it. I said I wanted it at the register, but it wasn't added to the receipt, and the line was getting too long to go back and order it after getting my food.
Again the food was great and I'll go back again next time I'm in town for more.

I really tried to think of something negative to say about McKenzie's. I really can't. I'm very picky when it comes to barbecue. There's a lot of places that people like and claim to have the best barbecue around. McKenzie's truly is some of best barbecue in East Texas, their sauce is awesome too. Very laid-back and nice atmosphere and people working to make sure you have a pleasant meal. If I could critique one thing, it would be the banana pudding, I believe it has too much whipped cream in the vanilla pudding. And they have some of the best sweet tea around. You won't be disappointed. Thank you!
