The alure of Hawaii is strong, and Aloha Pacific Grill definitely offers many Familiar dishes you see all the time on the Hawaiian tropical islands. I would start naming a few, but all you have to do is look at the menu and you will certainly see some of your favorites you king for from the islands. Did someone say Spam Musubi? You'll see this quick snack readily available at gas stations and convenience stores, kinda like hot dogs and (days) old donuts are in the mainland. I had the Spicy Jalepeno and pineapple chicken. Don't let the Jalepeno's scare you - it's maybe a level 3 out of 10 on the spicy scale, just enough to get your taste buds excited. Very casual place and the seating seems a bit wonky, I'm sure it can get quite crowded. Delicious though - I'll be back to try more tastes from the islands.
Ordered a plate via door dash. Very happy with the order, everything was fresh and delicious. I ordered the aloha rice, spring mix, Huli Huli chicken, Katsu chicken with grilled veggies & pineapple and all topped with fried onions & Furikake. I also ordered a pineapple coconut smoothie with tapioca. Loved everything! Super savory and packaged nicely
I am always excited to see a new food place , that is not a big chain , and even better when it is a different type of food, This was not what I was expecting , it is more like a Poke Bowl / Subway. You go down a line and make several choices based on the size you want : small is one base ( rice , noodles etc) , 1 protein , 1 side and toppings ( fried garlic , sesame seeds etc) or 2 and 2 , 3 and 3. I got the aloha rice , it was green and I am still not sure what it had in it as the girl serving mumbled different things as people asked. I am pretty sure she said chicken broth and ginger , it was ok , but cold even though it was on a steam table. I topped it with SPICY Aloha chicken , which was good , but not spicy. I did add a house spicy sauce , which tasted like kicked up Siracha , it was good , but not really spicy. I had buttered yams on the side. It was good , but as a friend of mine pointed out , more of a fusion , not really the Hawaiian experience I was hoping for, they do have a " MORE HAWAIIAN " menu ( Loco Moco etc.) , but that is to order , not the line food. They are not cheap for line food , but I guess they have to pay for the new strip center. I do hope they stay , as I will be back to try something else and I do like the diversity of a new food.
Went here for the 1st time today. They work much like a Poke' place, you get on the line, pick your base, your proteins and your sides. They have 3 sizes, small (1 protein), classic (2 proteins) and deluxe (3 proteins), I got the classic with pulled pork and a spicy chicken on my Hawaiian rice and it was very tasty. Even though I was full I just had to have a Halo-Halo to finish things off which is a blend of tropical fruit preserves, sweet beans, and milk in shaved ice, topped with a scoop of Ube (purple yam) ice cream, it was tasty and refreshing but a bit hard to eat it out of the cup, I'd like to get it in a bowl so you can get to everything and mix it up a bit. We enjoyed our lunch and look forward to going back.
Definitely recommended! A fresh new place in Corpus Christi. Aloha! serves a mix of Hawaiian and Pacific island food with the concept of Panda Express in terms of entrees, sides and the base. They even have seasonings like dried garlic, chili flakes or furikake. There's more I just don't remember all of them. Overall, for Corpus Christi, it's wonderful place to eat!
