I recently went to Florida and fell in love with the Cuban, Dominican, Puerto Rican and Jamaican, food restaurants I tried while there. I came back to Corpus and my husband and I were on the hunt for a Caribbean food place. We weren’t aware of any but after good research we found this food truck. It satisfies our cravings! For the money, the portions are huge. The food is delicious and full of flavor. The employees were friendly.

I ordered the Chuleta Frita plate and it was to die for. The pork was very juicy and tender. It was not dry like I’ve had at many other places before. It was perfect in my opinion. The potato salad and Tostones were also delicious. We will definitely be back!!

The Pernil was amazing! A rich, multi-faceted spice that worked so well with the meat. Quite a gem!

Nice little food truck in Corpus Christi. The wife and I were curious for a different type of cuisine in town while visiting. We chose this spot. There looked to be a team of 2 people working the truck when we ordered, so expect a bit of a wait. After a good minute, our food was ready. Everything is made to order judging by how hot and fresh the items were. The beef empandillas were nice, though a little on the saltier side. There were also olives included in them, which thankfully were not too prominent in flavor since we are not fans of olives. My porkchop dish was a pretty hefty serving, as the chop filled the whole container. On the bottom of the protein was a bed of rice. I guess this is a more authentic type of rice found in Puerto Rico? It resembles quinoa in my opinion. The texture was even worse. Like I said, this maybe a preference type of rice dish, so proceed with caution if you are accustomed to western rice, basmati, jasmine etc. Without making this review too long, the wife and I simply weren't impressed. Great people and service, but the food just didn't deliver. Hope to see them do well moving forward as the pandemic hopefully nears it's end.

A taste from home! We are from Puerto Rico, so every time we travel to a new destination we always search for Puertorrican restaurants. We were happy to find El Taino. It's authentic and delicious Puertorrican food. The owners are fantastic, they care about their business. You can follow them on Facebook, text them and they will reply in no time.
