Dyer's Bar-B-Que

Great old school spot. This was my second bbq stop during my visit to Amarillo and food did not disappoint my taste buds. The friendly bartender steered me in the right direction and I ended up with Dyer’s Special. My plate came loaded with brisket, ribs, coleslaw and potato salad with side plate of toast and bowl of beans.
The restaurant is split into a large dinning room and a good size bar with plenty of dining tables.
As a side note the one of the ladies working there has a great sense of humor and helped my wife played a practical joke on me. Well done! You get 5 additional stars.

We absolutely LOVED this bbq spot! We drove from California to NC, turned around and drives back to California in 6 days. On our way back we wanted to experience this Texas BBQ that we hear so much about. Dyer’s was incredible!! The brisket (dipped in BBQ sauce 😳☺️) and polish sausage were top notch, the coleslaw and salad…..OMG, and we are foodies!! The staff were super sweet!! I wish I could remember the young girls name behind the counter………but she went to get our dinner and had secretly packaged up their top3 desserts for our drive back to California and wrote little messages on the outside of the containers. Absolutely made our night. Texas is seriously winning our hearts!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! If you are looking for an authentic Western meal you need to eat here! The brisket melts in your mouth! it was delicious! They stack your plate with so much food the meal came with sides to include coleslaw potato salad and Texas toast. They serve you a whole bowl of beans and a big bowl of sauce. They even have a apricot dipping sauce for you to try which was outstanding. The kiddos can eat a meal at a reasonable price and it was plenty enough for two kids but we just had one. If you need to be further convinced this is a mom and pop place and you just need to give it a chance it's that good.

Great BBQ, Beer and Service! We ate the Jalepeno bites and drank a Shriner Beer while waiting for our take out! Everything was excellent 👌

We stopped at Dyers on our way from CA to TN per a friend’s recommendation since it’s close to the hotel we stayed at in Amarillo. The bbq brisket was sooooo yummy and it came with ALL the trimmings, not a choice of one or two and the price is so reasonable! So, on our way back we made sure to stop there again and this time we ordered to go- brisket and chopped beef and they were just as delicious! Potato salad tasted fresh, onion rings crispy and cole slaw tasted just right, not full of sugar or mayo! Wish they had Dyers in TN where I live or in CA where my friend lives! We paid less than $30 for great food that would’ve cost us over $50 elsewhere!
