I had the grilled lobster tails. They were small, but 3 of them got me full for sure. Loved that they were grilled. My son got the salmon, and it was great as well. My wife got the shrimp gumbo, and it was very good as well. Could have had a few more shrimp. Sue also got the blackend scallops very tender and great seasoning. Also had the seared tuna as an appetizer. I could eat that as my meal .lol
We will be back.
We ate Lazy Gator's in Amarillo for the first time!
I have to admit I was a bit nervous but the gator appetizer is amazing!!
I n ever thought I would try it but let me tell you, if you haven't it is he must try!!
I love catfish so I sorta played it safe here, lol. It was perfectly fried, the house sauce pairs perfectly! If you like sweet potatoes, the sweet potato fries are very nice, drizzled with a bit of honey, I paired it with a sweet hurricane drink!
Robert got the Mombo Combo, fish and Cajun fries, yum!! Paired with a Moscow with lime!
Definitely will be eating here again!!!
I tried alligator for the first time!- Blackened alligator tacos with cajun fries. I loved it! Our waitress was the sweetest person. The atmosphere was fun but a little too loud for my liking which was the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Would definitely eat again if I ever make it back.
Great experience. Wait staff friendly and courteous, super ambience for family eat outs, rich meal menu and to top it off, Micky the owner personally checks on customers to make sure they’re having a great meal, a rare feat.
PS: Meal was so good I forgot to get the before photos…my apologies. Highly recommended.
Lazy Gator is located at Bell and Hillside and currently offers dining in or curbside pickup. They have a bar inside, clean restrooms and a menu that offers a variety of cajun inspired food. Having moved to Amarillo from Florida, I really miss good seafood. When I go to Lazy Gators, I always get the shrimp and scallops and they never disappoint. The food here is reasonable and really tastes great. They're never busy when we go in so service is good and fast. I would highly recommend Lazy Gator's if you're looking for a nice variety at a good price. Oh, and don't forget to try one of their cocktails, they've created some very interesting combinations.
