They use short grain rice which I’ve never seen before. I got shrimp fried rice and it was not worth the 12.99... the shrimp was hard and the rice just wasn’t nice. So why five stars?

But more importantly for me is the sashimi. I am a salmon sashimi-holic... this is the best quality for the best price I’ve been able to find thus far!! $5 for 3 relatively long slices (see attached photo), good quality fish so for $15 you get 9 which is a very good deal for sashimi! Definitely will be back here!! May be my lunch spot.

Went to Basil Cafe today with my friend Deborah to celebrate my birthday I had spicy tuna roll and salad with ginger dressing and duck rolls what a fabulous place in Rockwall Texas fresh sushi ???? and awesome service..very quaint inside.

Food was fair, overall experience was Disappointing. My husband was served the wrong meal after waiting over 30 minutes in a nearly empty restaurant. An employee came and abruptly took it away from him, and seemed irritated with him for beginning eat it! I was served my meal at least 15 minutes before he got his entree too, which was also uncomfortable for me.
Perhaps we visited on a bad day, but we won’t be going back.

For the price, food was ok. Pineapple fried rice is on the very sweet side. Sushi that we ordered didn't really taste good, taste like defrosted fish. Service was a little slow. Our table next to us arrived after we ordered, but they got their sushi first. Appetizer came way after our meal came out.
Maybe they had an off night.
