Went for lunch. Wasn't super busy about a dozen or so folks eating. Nice and spacious with plenty of seating. Authentic laid back atmosphere from days gone by. Ordered CFS and it was ready quickly. Good home cooking on a cold drizzly day. Hit the spot! Tea was excellent as well. Will visit here again.

I came to 'Cole Mountain Feed Store' about an hour before closing time, on a cold March Sunday afternoon. I had to quell a need for some good ol' fashioned smoked BBQ and on this day, the restraunt wasn't too busy so counter service was prompt. The staff were courteous and helpful in providing information and gathering the plate/side servings as I moved down the counter making my choices. I had chosen the '2 meat Specialty Platter' with tender slow smoked Brisket and Pork and 2 sides. Today, for sides, I chose the excellent, just crisp battered fried okra and skin-on mashed potatoes with melted cheese. (There are around 13 sides to choose from). I served myself some good unsweetened, tea to drink then it was time to eat! The food was delicious and everything seemed to be cooked just right.

Vehicle access and parking was acceptable on this day. Handicapped access might pose a bit of a challenge.

At Cole Mountain choices are good and serving sizes seem sufficient. I'll probably return.

I tried Cole Mountain because Google sent me a message that I might like it. I looked it up and thought it might be too fancy for lunch but I tried it anyway. Trust me, it's not too fancy. It is a "quaint" building but sometimes the best barbecue places are no more than a hole in the wall. I tried the pulled pork sandwich plate with 2 sides. I usually go for the brisket on my first trip to a bbq place but the server suggested it so I thought "what the heck". The sandwich was placed on a potato bun which was awesome and the sauce was a dark molasses color and different than I've ever tasted but very good. The sides were spicy pinto beans and of course potato salad which were also very good. Overall a great lunch experience. I would recommend it but no need to dress up :)
