Gus'

I've read some of the other comments by other users and I feel they are a bit unfair. This is not Gilbert's El Charro, and it never will be. Gus isn't in any way trying to bring to his patrons an El Charro experience. This is his own unique restaurant. The food is excellent, comes out hot, and there is a lot of it on your plate. Free chips and hot sauce. Free margaritas that are pretty good for the price. Sometimes on the weekend he gets really busy and there is a wait. I dont fault the restaurant for that. It's not the biggest place, so in reality, you know it's possible you may have to wait.

Great local business. I spend my hard earned money locally before I visit chain restaurants.

Absolute amazing wait staff, unfortunately, that was the only staff! We had an extremely long wait... because the awesome waitress had to wait tables and then cook the food. It got better as her kids and grandkids arrived to help but was an unfortunate situation. Love that waitress, not impressed with whomever created that failing situation.

I enjoy the food and drinks here - the only reason for only four stars is that they're closed Mondays which is the best day for us to go.

Food is excellent authentic Mexican food, delicious! I love the rock and roll music too!

Gus's is one of our favorite places to eat Mexican food in Tyler. In my opinion, their queso is the best in town, and they have free margaritas that they refill liberally! I usually get the fajita burrito, but also have had their fajita salad and chicken enchiladas. Everything I have had it has been good. I would give them 5 stars, but their salsa is not great.
