This place has the best barbecue I have ever had. Strong praise from a boy growing up with a momma whose side squeeze was the charcoal grill in the back yard.

Seriously though, everything was on point. Brisket was incredible, ditto for smoked quail, sausage, and coleslaw. Very friendly staff and seating area, great spot for a date or family outing.

Will be returning here until I die or they move to the planned physical location (I'm praying they manage to keep up the quality there but am skeptical because it is SO good).

*Several disguises were used during the reporting for this interview, spread across many return visits and formats (during a holiday, non-holiday, busy, non-busy hours).

Good food and friendly service. I loved the pork belly burnt ends and the pork ribs. I had never had quail before but it was a good little bird. Glad to see a good BBQ place in Arlington.

Best to arrive in the first hour of opening to beat the crowd and snag your favorites before they sell out. A platter and extra pound of ribs fully fed three hungry adults. The fat on the moist brisket melts in your mouth like butter. The tortillas are fluffy and fresh, and fantastic for mopping up juices from the savory burnt ends. Banana pudding cupcakes are a nice finish to the meal with a pudding center and crusted bottom. Next to Division Brewery for a convenient pairing to your feast. Great idea to bring friends to split a platter with so you know what you like for next time.

What a treat! Hurtado BBQ food truck shares space with the somewhat hard to fine Division Brewery. There are wooden tables (surplus cable spools) and metal stools under a large area covered by tarps. Tables and customers are shared with the brewery.

Atmosphere is between casual and back yard picnic.
The menu is simple and execution is flawless given the constraints. You’re here for the ‘que, not the tablecloth... or the plate.

I had brisket. Lean was fairly lean but not dry. Smoke was excellent and the thick pepper crust was first rate. Kay had burnt ends (beef, not pork) and I found it a bit too sweet. She enjoyed it though. We split a chili-mac side that was surprisingly good and spicy.

Hurtado offers a couple varieties of bottled soft drink. Beer sold a couple steps away in the brewery would have been a better fit if I weren’t doing chores this afternoon.

Absolutely fantastic! The quail is especially tasty. It has a very relaxing, kind of "back yard deck" environment for the outside seating. They also offer indoor seating in the brewery. We didn't have a chance to sample the beer but will do very soon!
