I will have to say.... they have the most amazing brisket I have ever eaten in my life. The outside of the sausage was really tough to get through but that brisket was untouchable. Their mac n cheese was a bit dry, but the flavor is there. The side selection was not that great, but they do have some really good, all you can eat, pinto beans. You will not leave hungry, that's for sure. All-in-all, I would have to say it's so much better than Dickeys as far as the meat goes. So tender and juicy, especially when you get it "dunked." It was $42 for my husband and I to eat meat with 1 side each so definitely pricey, but also worth it. The dough in the cobbler tasted very.... weird. It tasted more like aluminum than anything. And their sauce is alright if you're a fan of the consistency of A1. It is very soupy and bitter. Not like normal bbq sauce.
Just a couple of things to look out for! Would recommend going here just for the brisket! Buy yourself a pound and go home and make your own sides! That is what I will be doing next time!
I respect BBQ, and love a pit, but Cooper's missed the mark just a bit. Some of the meats had been on the pit too long and subsequently got dry and a bit tough. I was lucky to get the butt end of the brisket that oozed with fatty goodness, however, the rest of our party reported their cuts were on the drier side. The sausage was on point, but who can mess up sausage? Bacon jalapeno mac, yes please. Free beans, YASSSSS! cobblers were all pretty average, which is delicious. For fun atmosphere, casual dining, and all the meats, I would do it again.
Meh. Overpriced but okay brisket. Very fatty. Asked for 1 pound but they cut 1 1/2 pounds. It was cut and weighted by 2 different people without confirmation of the amount asked for. Sausage was way too peppered and not juicy at all. Asked for 1/2 lb. and received a bit more. Of course paid based on weight not on what was ordered. The baked potato was a little small for the price but very tasty! They put brisket rub on the potato skin which makes for a yummy potato. Not worth the drive to Ft. Worth.
This place is legit. They do classic barbecue from the pit and serve it cafeteria style. The good stuff is a little pricey, but worth it. The meats are the best thing on the menu, and the beef rib is a trip. Definitely go for that if you’ll only visit once. The fixings hold their own, but none are stand outs. Your best bets are going to be the jalapeño bacon Mac and cheese (average) and the cobblers (exceptional).
I've been to many, many barbecue joints in and around Fort Worth, and I've never had anything close to as good as Cooper's! Everything I've eaten here is unbelievably delicious. Hands down the best brisket in the world, and you can get it lean or fatty, depending on your preference. When my family comes in from out of town, they don't care what we do, as long as we go to Cooper's. Get whatever meat you want, straight out of the smoker, but remember that have unlimited beans, bread, pickles, and onions. It can get pricey, but it you take advantage of those bottomless beans, you can get a hearty meal for a good deal. Cooper's is the best in Fort Worth and beyond!
