Great atmosphere. They had no problem getting our large party seated and taken care of. Great beer and even better food.
Really good German food. I'm originally from Pennsylvania and we have a large population of German descendants. The food made me feel like I was home in Pennsylvania.
Walking into this restaurant is like walking into another world, which I am sure if the whole point of the decor. It's very festive and fun to experience. Our waiter was excellent and very attentive. In my opinion, everything is overpriced for what is being offered - why do I need to pay $15 for two sausages, sauerkraut and fries? - but it is tasty. The apple streusel with ice cream is delicious.
The food was great and Melanie our server was AAA+. We all had different items and tasted like we were in German. Don't let the outside scare you off! The inside is fun and charming. We were told they have live German music on the weekend. Give it a try. The warm potato salad was excellent!
Family fun, great beer, and Helga is a hoot! Be prepared for friendly service, German beers on tap, Helga (a spry 80+ year old woman who plays a saw), warm pretzels, and potato cakes.
Update: Just ordered off their brand new Beer Garden menu. The Schnitzel Sandwich was delicious and HUGE. Seriously that thing could have fed 2 people. Also the fried mushrooms are fresh and fried onion is amazing. Very well worth the price.
