Chain Breakers Pizza

We do a lot of hunting in Throckmorton County as it is bountiful of whitetail deer, hogs, and various species of birds. The town itself is rich in history and small town pride, and it is near impossible to go anywhere in town without getting asked “how’s the family?” . The small town hospitality is just the tip of the iceberg when walking into Chain breakers Pizza. Kena and the crew make you feel like family as they great you and take your drink order. And boy let me tell you after 8 hours in the deer blind the first drink of Dr. Pepper hit my soul in ways that a good women never could. The smells of fresh baked pizza coming from the kitchen took me to old Italy as I could imagine myself in the small cafes of Europe. Don’t let this small place fool you either it is not just all pizza and soda. I was shocked to see a salad bar that rivaled even the greatest of farmers markets. And the home made ranch dressing was an explosion of flavor upon my tower of greens. Then comes the main course our pizza. We read through the menu and finally decided on “The Warden” a jalapeño popper themed pizza. I will say this I have yet to have a better pizza PERIOD! This pizza was plentiful in toppings and flavors as my taste buds danced around and partied in excitement. We wanted more but could not eat another bite as the salad bar and pizza were more than enough. In a small town like Throckmorton I expected to pay a small fortune for the gourmet meal I just received. But was shocked as my total was extremely reasonable. I could not feel any better about my decision, especially when I heard a sweet “y’all come back and see us!” From the kitchen as Kena smiled and waived bye.
