My daughter’s family invited me for Sunday Dinner at Titaya’s Thai (their FAV Thai restaurant in Austin)!!! It was delicious and the place was packed with happy eaters!!! My grandchildren dove into a Meatball Soup (they ordered before I had arrived from Church) so I never got to look at the Menu?!?
I just wanted Chicken Pad Thai and it was perfect and so were the Shrimp Rolls with a Peanut Sauce to dip them into!!!
This place was as good or better than any Thai restaurant in the Nation’s Capital, where I recently moved from!!! I’m so happy that they called to see if I wanted to join them!!!
The pineapple fried rice is a must-try dish (lots of well blended flavor, mildly hot spiciness), and their noodle dishes have also been very flavorful with what might be homemade flat noodles. The meat (chicken, beef, pork, or shrimp) tends to be on the overcooked/dry side and has not been the highlight of any dish. Generous portions. Service can be a bit hurried when busy, and the host is oddly unfriendly, but the waiters are good and attentive. Decor is nice and casual. Parking lot is a bit narrow, but you can overflow park in an adjacent lot.
The food is good enough that you'll recommend it to your friends and come back for more.
I love coming to Titaya's! It's close to my work, but I don't get to come frequently enough for lunch. The food is made to order. The service is always top quality. I like trying different dishes each time I go.
My only complaint (which may not matter much anymore) is that they are reluctant to split the bill for large parties. It's becoming less of an issue though due to payment/money transfer apps.
Titaya's has been recommended to me many times, so I finally came to give them a try. To start, I got the Satay Gai which was grilled chicken skewers that I dipped in both a peanut sauce and a chili cucumber relish. Contrasting, yet great flavors to pair together. As for my entree, I had to go with the Pad Thai. Good choice on my part, this had a bunch of flavors in it from the sauce to the bean sprouts to the peanuts. Huge portion which I was barely able to finish. It was priced pretty well too! Highly satisfied with my visit and will be back!
It’s a modern nice lil place with great food, good customer service. The appetizers (Sweet fried taro & fish cakes) was so good but small portions for the price tho. I love the Pad Thai, the stir fried basil ???? beef and tofu not so good, beef was kinda chewy and tofu is hard. Everything else is delicious.
