The Green Mesquite BBQ

Pulled pork sandwich is good, but the sides (especially the beans) are not. The French fries are good. Definitely do not get the Philly sandwich as it is made with what appears to be Kraft cheese slices and is not good.

The 3 meat entree is the best bang for your buck. A lot of my friends like other bbq places over this one but I'm never disappointed with my food or my service.

The place is always well kept and the staff is always friendly.

The brisket, ribs, or chicken with double mac and cheese is my go-to for taste and value.

Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. I got the 4 meat plate with the fried and green beans. I wouldn't recommend the green beans, they were very chewy. On a positive note, the wings are amazing!

Austin has some of the best BBQ in the world, but there's usually a wait of an hour or more. If you don't want to wait, and still get some BBQ that's pretty good, Green Mesquite isn't a bad option.

There's a large dining area, and outdoor seating available, so they can handle a large group. The prices are fair, so you never feel like you're getting cheated.

If you're in South Austin, and you want a decent plate it BBQ, you really can't go wrong with Green Mesquite.

I had the three meat plate special...brisket, ribs and pulled pork with Cole slaw and fried okra. It was wonderful. Seasoned well and very tender. Peach cobbler with ice cream dessert was perfect. Loved the whole meal! Five very happy customers!
